Daily Us ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Mateusz Rodz. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Daily Us mobile application (the "App") and the website at dailyus.life (the "Website").

By using our App or Website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address - used for authentication (Magic Link login) and account recovery
  • Display name - the name you choose to show to your partner
  • Avatar selection - your chosen avatar type within the app

2.2 Google OAuth (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other Google services.

2.3 Couple Data

When you create or join a couple, we store:

  • Couple pairing information (invite code, membership)
  • Relationship start date (if you choose to set one)
  • Countdown events you create (titles and dates)

2.4 Content You Create

  • Drawn messages - images you draw and send to your partner, stored as PNG files
  • Text captions - optional short text attached to your drawings

2.5 Usage Data

  • Mission completion status
  • Achievement progress
  • Coin balance
  • Subscription plan status

2.6 Device Information

  • Push notification token - to send you notifications when your partner sends a message or completes a mission
  • Device locale - to display the app in your preferred language (English, Italian, or Spanish)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the App's core functionality (authentication, couple pairing, messaging, missions)
  • Send push notifications about messages, mission completions, and partner activity
  • Display your content to your partner (and only your partner)
  • Track your progress (achievements, coins, streaks)
  • Process and manage your subscription
  • Improve the App and develop new features

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud platform built on PostgreSQL. Specifically:

  • Account and couple data are stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled, ensuring you can only access your own couple's data
  • Drawn images are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket, accessible only via time-limited signed URLs (1 hour expiry)
  • Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with encrypted sessions
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

  • Your partner - your drawings, captions, display name, avatar, mission completions, and countdown events are visible to your paired partner
  • Service providers - we use Supabase for data storage and Expo for push notification delivery. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies
  • Legal requirements - we may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, visit our Your Data page or contact us at the email below. Upon deletion:

  • Your profile, messages, and all couple data will be permanently removed
  • Your partner will be notified that the couple has been dissolved
  • Drawn images will be deleted from storage

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Export your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

Daily Us is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through the App.
